Spectrometry and Proteomics at WSU
Jim received a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Florida in 1992 under the supervision of Professor John R. Eyler. He then did postdoctoral studies with Richard D. Smith at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory before moving to Merck Research Laboratories. In June of 2002, Dr. Bruce joined WSU and started a new research group at Washington State University where students and postdoctoral researchers learn how to develop and apply cutting-edge technology for advanced proteomics research. Dr. Bruce's interests include advancement of mass spectrometry technology and its application to fundamental studies of bioremediation, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and other areas of human health.
