Xiaoting Tang

Xiaoting Tang received her BS in chemistry from Nankai University in 1992, an MS in Analytical Chemistry in Peking University in 1995, and an MS in Medicinal Chemistry in Pharmacy School in Purdue University in 1999.  Xiaoting then worked as a staff chemist in the Department of Biological Chemistry at Merck Research Laboratories from 1999 to 2001.  In 2003, Xiaoting joined Dr. James Bruce in Washington State University to pursue her Ph.D.  Xiaoting's research involved the development of  novel chemical cross-linking strategies for profiling protein-protein interactions using high performance FTICR-MS for mapping protein interactions at global scale, and development of a hybrid mass spectrometer which couples Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) with FTICR-MS for studying protein structures.  Xiaoting earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from WSU in December, 2006.  Dr. Tang is currently Associate Director of Proteomics at WSU.
